Sit

If you haven’t already, now is a good time to teach your puppy how to sit. To teach this behavior, hold a tasty treat in your hand and hold it up to your puppy’s nose. Slowly raise the cookie to help your puppy look up and sit down. Mark and reward the behavior.

Once your puppy gets the hang of the idea, name the behavior “sit,” and try luring your puppy with an empty hand. Once your puppy sits, promptly mark and give a treat from the other hand while they remain in position.
