Collar grabs are an important thing that we want our puppy comfortable with. We do this for a lot of things, like restraint at the vet and guiding your puppy to another space.
Practice getting your puppy used to this by gently holding your dog’s collar or harness (while your puppy is wearing it) while feeding treats at the same time. If your puppy shies away, start with just touching the collar or near the collar.
